Akshay Kumar Biography
Akshay Kumar is recognized as a prominent star in Bollywood who has given many blockbusters. Some say in Indian film industry, there are several hunks but no one look as good as Akshay Kumar.
He was born on the 9th September, 1967 in Amritsar. His given name is Rajiv Hariom Bhatia but he is affectionately called as Akki. His father was an army officer. His mother’s name was Aruna Bhatia.
He spent childhood in Chandi Chowk area of Delhi. He completed basic education from St. Don Boscos and then Khalsa College. He took training in martial arts in Hong Kong and he is referred to as the "Bruce Lee of India. Earlier to film industry, he worked as waiter in Bangkok.

Akshay entered Bollywood without any backing. His first movie was Saugandh. Thereafter he passed through tough period and had many ups and down. In 2005, Akshaya contributed many blockbuster movies like Bewafaa ,Waqt, Mere JeevanSaathi, Garam Masala, Deewane Huye Pagal and Dosti.
He played comedian roles in films such as Hera Pheri (2000), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Garam Masala (2005), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and Singh Is King (2008). His success graph ascends in 2007 when he gave four commercially successful films. He was also praised for his performance in Housefull 2 (2012) and Rowdy Rathore (2012) that was big hit.
Akshaya grabbed numerous awards during his career. He got the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his role in Ajnabee. He was honoured with Best Actor in a Comic Role for Mujhse Shaadi Karogi in IIFA Awards 2005. He had an affectionate relationship with Pooja Batra, RaveenaTandon, Rekha and Shilpa Shetty. He finally got married to Twinkle Khanna, the daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. He has son, Araav Bhatia and daughter Nitara.
