Anushka Shetty is well recognized face in Telugu and Tamil film industries. She has impressive personality and exhibited her talent in numerous blockbuster movies.
In Telugu film industry, she made her acting debut in ‘Super’ (2005). She came in limelight for her brilliant performance in Vikramarkudu (2006) which was highly acclaimed by audiences and gained commercial success.
She made her first appearance in Tamil cinema with Rendu (2006) with actor Madhavan. Here she played the role of innocent girl and her performance was well appreciated.
Her next Tamil film was Arundhathi, that was originally made in Telugu. This film gave her fame and she was being recognized in Telugu and Tamil industry.
Anushka Shetty did six films in 2008. Souryam with Gopichand was highly successful film. She acted in “OkkaMagaadu”, “Swagatam” and “Baladur” but these movies that did not do well at the box office.
Anushka played a most contentious role as male in the film Vettaikkaran in 2009 which was well appreciated by the viewers. In the 2010, Shetty gained fame for her excellent performance in Tamil action-masala film Singam (2010) that bombed at the box office.
Her role in movies like Vaanam (2011) and DeivaThirumagal (2011) was critically applauded. She appeared in film Singam II (2013), a sequel to Singam that was a blockbuster.
Anuska was credited for Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2009. In 2010, Anushka won the Nandi Awards for Special Jury Award for the Film Arundhati and in the same year she was honoured with Filmfare Award for Best Actress in the Telugu Film, Vedam.
Anushka Shetty was born as Sweety Shetty on 7 November 1981 in Mangalore. She hails from the landed Bellipady Uramalu Guthu family.
Her parents are Prafulla and A.N. Vittal Shetty. She has two brothers Gunaranjan Shetty and Sai Ramesh Shetty who is a cosmetic surgeon.
Anushka Shetty did her schooling in Bangalore and completed her graduation in Computer Applications at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She was also a trainer of yoga and took training under Yoga Guru Bharat Thaku.
