Nayantara, is a leading south Indian heroine who has acted in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil films. She is known for her innocent looks and attractive persona that allures her fans.
Nayantara, was born in Tiruvalla, Pathanamthitta district of Kerala in a Syrian Christian family. Her father an Indian Air Force officer had transferable job, so her early education was at several places in India. She finally did B.A in English Literature from Marthoma College in Tiruvalla, Kerala.
Nayanatara began her career from the Malayalam film "Manassinakkare" directed by Sathyan Anthikad in 2003. This blockbuster film made her gain huge popularity.
Her eye-catching look and acting talent delighted the audience in Kerala. Her second film was "Vismayathumbath" released in 2004 directed by Fazil, was with mega star Mohanlal.
She again appeared with Mohanlal, in "Natturajavu". The beautiful heroine entered in Tamil films with "Ayya" (2005) and acted opposite Sarat Kumar.
Her second Tamil film was "Chandramukhi" opposite megastar Rajnikanth. Her leading roles in Chandramukhi, Ghajini, Billa and Yaaradi Nee Mohini made her a star in Tamil cinema.
In 2010, she appeared in Malayalam movie Bodyguard that was a huge hit. Her films Adurs and Simha in Telugu were highly applauded by the viewers. She also debuted in a Kannada film opposite superstar Upendra.
Nayantara came in contact with dance director Prabhu Deva in 2008 and after the release of her film Villu, she had intimate relationship with him. In 2010 Prabhu Deva admitted his love for Nayantara and said they will tie the knot soon.
However, in 2012, Nayantara flashed the news that she has broken up her relationship with Prabhu Deva.
