Sonam Kapoor is a young, dazzling and shining actress of Bollywood. She was born in Mumbai on 9 June 1985and is the daughter of actor Anil Kapoor.
She took basic education from Arya Vidya Mandir and received International Baccalaureate from the United World College of South East Asia.
She also completed courses in Political Science and Economics from University of East London.
Sonam Kapoor started her film career as assistant to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and was actively involved in making of the film ‘Black’.
She made acting debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Saawariya’ released in 2007.
After that she acted in Delhi – 6. Her film ‘I Hate Luv Storys; was a successful film that was released in 2010.
She also worked in film ‘Aisha’ with Abhay Deol. Her two films Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and 'Raanjhanna' were huge success.
Sonam was applauded by the audiences for her romantic performance and the success of these films, gave her huge popularity.
Sonam also participated in many mega events like International Indian Film Academy Awards, also known as "IIFA" in 2009. She also participates in fashion shows and endorsed many fashion products.

Sonam Kapoor is a versatile actress who can speak English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Marathi fluently. She is a well trained classical dancer.
She has many hobbies like reading, shopping, playing squash, video games and painting.
